Since 2002, our visionary founder Cliff Lede, alongside Vineyard Operations Director Allison Wilson and Winemaking Director Christopher Tynan, has cultivated a legacy of unparalleled quality on our sixty-acre estate.
The 2019 vintage stands as a testament to the exceptional conditions bestowed upon Napa Valley that year. From a frost-free bud break to a warm, sun-kissed autumn, nature conspired to craft wines of sublime balance and intensity. Our 2019 Stags Leap Cabernet embodies this perfection, marrying concentrated fruit, lively acidity, and elegant structure in harmonious union.
Sourced from our esteemed Poetry Vineyard, the Twin Peaks estate, and select neighboring vineyards, this wine is a mosaic of terroir expression. Each block, clone, and rootstock contributes to its complexity, from the rugged terraces of Poetry to the ancient riverbed soils of Twin Peaks.
Crafted with meticulous attention, our winemaking process ensures the preservation of fruit integrity and the enhancement of flavor. From pre-dawn harvests to innovative sorting technologies, every step is taken to elevate the quality of our wines. Twenty-one months in French oak barrels further refines the wine, adding layers of depth and nuance.
Upon the palate, the 2019 vintage unfolds a tapestry of flavors: luscious cassis, ripe blackberries, and dark cherries dance alongside exotic spices and savory notes of graphite and cocoa.
