TASTING NOTES
At Corliss, they exercise the discipline to make the highest quality decisions at each stage of winemaking, from vine to bottle. From sustainable, meticulous viticulture in our Estate Vineyards, to individual berry sorting at harvest, to slow native yeast fermentation in micro-scale custom oak and concrete fermenters. They follow this with extended elevage in barrel, rigorous selection of the best lots for blending, and over two years of additional aging in bottle before the wines are finally labeled and available for your enjoyment.

Blend: 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 29% Cabernet Franc, 13% Merlot, Petit Verdot, & Malbec

Alcohol: 14.9%
95 POINTS - "The 2012 Columbia Valley Red Wine is another rock star Bordeaux blend that’s made from 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 29% Cabernet Franc, 13% Merlot, and the balance Petit Verdot and Malbec. It was aged 28 months in 65% new French oak. Notes of cassis, tobacco leaf, lead pencil shavings and black currants all emerge from this rich, full-bodied and concentrated effort that has a big, layered texture, no hard edges and impeccable balance. It’s slightly more approachable than the straight Cabernet, yet should nevertheless evolve for just as long." - Jeb Dunnuck

95 POINTS - "Bright ruby-red. The nose offers a panoply or aromas without any sign of excess ripeness: huckleberry, alpine raspberry, plum and coriander, with sexy oak tones and a hint of medicinal lift. Wonderfully elegant, silky and tactile, with compellingly sweet currant and black cherry fruit perfectly balanced by harmonious acidity. A complete wine with great texture and energy. Still a bit tight on the back, but already spreads out to saturate the palate. The noble tannins should carry this wine for a long time." - Stephen Tanzer

92 POINTS - "Brooding aromas of barrel spices, red and black fruit, freshly brewed coffee and pencil lead are followed by an intense full palate. It displays a lot of layers to explore." - Wine Enthusiast

Socially Rated 4+ / 5 ⭐
Layered aromas of blackcurrant, rose petal, pencil shavings and graphite are infused with deep notes of cassis, tobacco leaf, cedar and thyme. The palate shows excellent textural depth with a concentration of both red and dark fruit flavors. Fine and persistent tannins, along with a dense and supple texture, make this a complete wine, with impeccable balance and energy.
