WINEMAKER NOTES
The KING is a symbol of Power and Strength. That’s why they let him carry a sword and a Wine Glass. He is the ultimate master of the House of Cards. Cabernet Sauvignon rules the Red Wine World!
Let’s face it: Because you can never tell what kind of hand Mother Nature will throw down in terms of weather conditions, every harvest is a game of risk in wine country. For that reason, the 2016 vintage in Napa Valley will be remembered for its wonderful balance of warm days, cool nights, and a long growing season which allowed winemakers plenty of time to craft magnificent offerings of Cabernet Sauvignon that are both ageworthy and, in many cases, rich, lively and approachable when young.

92 POINTS - "Full-bodied with a deep, dark red hue. The wine immediately stimulates the senses with lofty aromas of wild berries, ripe plum, dark chocolate nibs, vanilla tobacco, allspice and cedar box. On the palate, opulent flavors of ripe blackberry, raspberry, plum, red currant and cassis are layered with lively notes of black pepper, caramel, clove and sage. Even more impressive is the wine’s magnificent balance of a velvety texture, fine-grained tannins, firm structure, and how the pure fruit flavors linger at the finish. Elegant, expressive and persistent. Not only can you age the wine for 5-7 years, but it’s also ready to drink now. In card talk, it’s a winning hand and a great bet that pays dividends in the end. House of Cards Napa Cabernet Sauvignon is a royal blend of Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. We start with Cabernet Sauvignon 90%, add Merlot 6%, and finish with Petite Verdot 4%. The wine is aged in French oak barrels for 12 months.
House of cards is rich and flavorful. Red and dark fruits are apparent in the nose with Plum, Currant and Blackberry tones. The aroma is layered and shows the power of Cabernet and of oak nuance. The pallet is fine grained tannin, long and refined with a high degree of Deliciosity! The finish lingers and invites a second glass or two. Invite your favorite friends to try, and share with your hottest date.
