WINEMAKER NOTES
When you mention Rutherford to wine lovers, the first thing that usually comes to mind is one of the best Cabernet Sauvignon produced in Napa Valley. The fruit for the 2015 Kukeri Rutherford Cabernet Sauvignon are sourced from a vineyard located on west side of Hwy 29 in the middle of the Rutherford “Bench”. Only 3 barrels produced of this classic Rutherford “dust” cabernet sauvignon.
93 POINTS - "Nose of deep black and red fruit, cigar box cedar, and red rose petals. On the palet is stewed berries, baking spice and the unmistakable coco powder known as Rutherford Dust. This is a dry cab. Tennis are soft and the acid is mellow but keeps your mouth watering for more. Great all around bottle to share with friends." S. Kleinfeld - Certified Sommelier
With an opulent purple hue, the 2015 Kukeri Rutherford Cabernet Sauvignon features bold and intense aromas of ripe dark fruit, dry earth, leather, tobacco, and dried herbs. On the palate, the deep, rich, and sophisticated flavors of black cherry, and ripe plum are interlaced with nuances of coffee beans, clove, and toasted oak. These distinct flavors are balanced with a round, supple texture; firm tannins; and a luxurious finish. The end result is a well-crafted Cabernet that is young, powerful and assertive, yet very complex, elegant and a pleasure to sip-especially as it opens up in the glass.
